History Ray Sawyer opened Sawyer Automotive in 1981. Having been working at other shops since the age of 16 and wanting to branch out on his own, he purchased the former Volkswagen repair shop. The business has steadily grown over the years in terms of the number of customers and the number of cars being serviced at any given time. Along with Ray, his wife Denise is an integral part of keeping the family business up and running. Denise can normally be found in the office, greeting customers and taking appointments. The other mainstay in Sawyer Automotive's operation is our employees. Rick, who has over 25 years of automobile repair experience, has been here for many years and is familiar with our customers' cars. Gino was trained at Wyotech, a school devoted to the automotive profession and has quickly become a mechanic that is skilled and wise beyond his years. Our newest hire, Jim, was trained at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and holds an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology and is very proficient in handling everything from the smallest jobs to the complicated timing belt and clutch replacements. We are constantly trying to keep up with new technology, through scan tools, diagnostic equipment, electronic repair manuals, and a computerized alignment system. Ray is an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician, with an Advanced Level Certificate, allowing him to diagnose and repair emission problems related to the Massachusetts Automobile Inspection. |
